The New Means of Being Humble
So for any football sports fan that keeps up with the news, and especially any SF 49ers fan should be glad if not relieved, that the Michael Crabtree holdout is officially done and over with. The former Texas Tech star signed a 6 year deal (potential 5 year depending on certain factors) with 17 million guaranteed.
I don’t consider the numbers absurd anymore because I’ve accepted this as the world of sports – anyone that gets over (and I’m being reasonable) 2 million a year is overpaid. Think with me for a couple of minutes as we get sidetracked for a bit. If all the athletes in the world who are earning over 2 million year gave back to the economy, that pot would be so big it’d probably be enough to fund another “Cash for Clunkers” program for a long time, or if the pot was spread out amongst the poorest of the poor in third world countries, the world would be one step closer to being less fortunate.
But I’m digressing so back to the original point. Along with this past Sunday’s forgivable Rich Gannon’s slip of the tongue remark on overtime rules, I think we reached an all time low on what it means to be humble. As I’m reading this story on ESPN, Michael Crabtree’s response to the conclusion of the agreement talks only adds on to the relativistic self-righteous attitude our society is famously known for. Here’s the response from the ESPN article:
Retro Picture 7
The picture was taken when our family plus Ed and my aunt and kids plus her sister went on a cruise for the first time. I’m not really sure when the picture was taken, what camera it was taken with and I think this was the first time that Jeff ever went to Disney World lol. I actually look pretty G in the picture and well… you can make your own judgements on what the other two look like haha.
Oh yea and this might be the only record that anyone ever has on file of Ed wearing shorts… LOL you will NEVER see him wear shorts for whatever reason – you can ask him yourself lol

Philosophical Humor
Perhaps only those who has an idea of the kind of personality each of the philosophers are known for, with the exception of the punchline of course, can truly appreciate this pictorial aside from just the words. Nonetheless everyone should at least get a crack out of this one. Read more…
Vegetarian For a Week
I’m a meat eater/lover – and even to the point where I love steak fat. So I had this idea and decided some time in August to do a vegetarian diet for a week but a lot of events have prevented me from doing so ranging from the Youth Retreat to family dinner buffets at East Manor on Queens Boulevard. I wanted to go through with it to see if in fact I could. I wasn’t doing it to lose weight or start a diet but just for the sake of doing it.
Finally I figured that the week after Labor Day would be the best week to go Vegetarian and today in a couple of hours would be the end of my week since starting it. It has been a pretty interesting week and my beautiful and wonderful girlfriend, Jenny, has been very supportive. Read more…

I can tell you how much I love you today, but we have our whole lifetime ahead of us in which you’ll see me show you every day.
Happy Birthday Jenny.

Grand Central’s Secrets by Rolando Pujol
I first saw the article in amNY, City Living section on August 20th 2009, by Rolando Pujol during my lunch break. I thought it was pretty neat and decided to post it here. Basically the article talks about 10 secret things that you would’ve never known unless you know where to look and their history, in Grand Central Terminal from Metro-North Railroad spokeman Dan Brucker. Enjoy the post and credits go to amNY and Rolando Pujol for the article

1. The Dark Patch
Look up at the ceiling: In the northwest corner, you’ll see a little square black patch. Now imagine extending that color across the entire constellation that’s painted on the ceiling. That’s what was there before Grand Central Terminal was dramatically restored in the 1990s. That little black patch was left as a reminder of the bad old days. And what exactly does that black patch consist of? Decades of dirt? Try again. It was the result of decades of smoking in the terminal. That’s old nicotine and tobacco residue that was preserved, and it’s a testament to how dramatic this restoration was.
Left 4 Dead Alienware Tournament Round 4 and 5
So it turns out that we did get a win because of a forfeit loss by the other side. We played our 4th round this past monday and here is the score.

Our worst loss yet… 340 – 8266. We really did quite bad in this round lol.
On another note, according to some miscommunication… we were supposed to have a match today and no one played so that means at this point in time… we are 1-4 lol. I’m beginning to not care anymore and just not play since we’re doing so bad so probably I wont be updating the blog regarding this issue… but if we do play I might as well share the pwnage that has taken place lol
Left 4 Dead Alienware Tournament Round 2 and 3
Played the 2nd round on August 15th and the result is as follows.
The final score is 1917 to 5666 them, which makes us 0-2 but apparently according to dlui, if the other team doesnt confirm the date to play a proposed time by the deadline, it results in a forfeit and we get a win.
The 3rd round opposing team has not confirmed the date/time to play so as of this moment if what dlui says is true, it’s passed the deadline and we are defaulted with a win which makes us 1-2.
Our next match is Monday, August 23rd.
Left 4 Dead Alienware Tournament Round 1
So a bunch of us entered the subject tournament above and the winning team on September 26, gets a cash prize of $1,500. You can read all about it here. Our team consists of Dlui, Dho, Sho, Bliu, Jliu, and Glin – of course we can add others on our team but for now those are the members.
It’s worth a try and it doesn’t hurt anyone other than having your schedule revolve around the match times. Our first round was played by bliu, dlui, jliu, and glin – and our score pretty much ended up with the following.

Score being 5694 – 1542, them. The second round is slated for today, August 15th…. hopefully we wont get slaughtered like we did the first round -_-”
Retro Picture 7
It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a retro picture from back in the day – partly because I’ve been slacking on posting stuff lol.
This picture was taken back in 2004 for the graduating class of High School Seniors. There were four seniors then: Jacey Li, LeighAnne Manguiob, Andrew Yuen, and Jenny Moy. I think it was our first ever Senior Sendoff and pictures were being taken with everyone and well… we can tell a lot from this photo lol
